We need each and every Olympian to raise as much sponsorship as possible for the Rowcroft. To help you along you along we will send you a fundraising pack once we have received your entry forms, full of tips on how to get sponsors! It really is much easier than you think! Rowcroft has a huge following in the South Devon community, you will find the support out there overwhelming!
The web: On twitter or facebook, or got your own website? Use them to tell everyone what you are up to. You can even post links to online fundraising sites, such as virgin giving. Why not change your email signature to let people know what you are up to and how they can support you.
Wear your wig to work day: On the ? of July, we will be encouraging all drags to ‘wear their wig to work’, to raise awareness of the event and of course, help you to boost your sponsorship! Be sure to email us the pics!
Gift Aid it! Gift aid is brilliant. For charities it means extra money for free! Using Gift Aid means that for every pound that is donated, Rowcroft gets an extra 28 pence from the HM Revenue and Customs! All we need is your sponsor’s full name and postcode and for them to tick that box!
This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80, imagine what a difference that could make. It doesn’t cost you or your sponsors a penny extra. As long as they pay income tax equal to the tax reclaimed on the donation, (unless somebody is donating thousands this will be all tax payers). They will not receive any unwanted mailing by ticking the box.
Collecting sponsorship money online… Justgiving.com is a fantastic and easy way to enable you to collect sponsorship online from friends and family from all corners of the earth. You can personalise a page, email a link to your friends, family and colleagues and they are able to sponsor you immediately online.
Go to www.justgiving.com, select ‘start fundraising’, enter the date 31st July 2010. Please select Rowcroft Hospice as the beneficiary charity. Then go on to enter your details and personalise your page - it’s that simple!
Got a facebook or twitter account? It’s a great way to get everyone know what you’re up to and now you can add your justgiving site to it, so all you friends can donate and see your progress! You can also link it to a clip on youtube and flickr! What more could you ask for?
